YOUR GUIDE & HOSTYour guide is Adrian Boots BSc (Hons) in Geography & Environmental Management, MSc. Adrian is a Research Associate at the University of the West of England (UWE), currently carrying out research on the River Parrett & Somerset Levels for UWE and the Environment Agency, and research into sustainability for UWE and the University of Grenoble. He lectures in nature conservation, countryside management and ecology. His published work includes research papers presented at conferences such as The British Ecological Society and The International Association for Landscape Ecology.
His own continuing professional development includes recent training in Permaculture with Patrick Whitefield, and planned further study of orchard restoration and development and wetland habitats. Adrian is currently nearing completion of his PhD on the landscape ecology of the Mendip Hills. Adrian is passionate, and immensely knowledgeable, about the Mendip Hills and the West Country. His style is very informal, enthusiastic and friendly, and he provides guests with a unique and delightful perspective on the area. It is his pleasure to share his enjoyment of the area with you.
