ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES

Our bright and sunny guest rooms have private bathrooms and hospitality trays are provided with a selection of tea, coffee, fruit/herb teas, water and biscuits. Rooms are light, bright and attractively furnished. Beds are comfortable, with good mattresses and fresh linens.

Our lovely rooms have spectacular uninterrupted views of Blackdown, the highest point of the Mendip Hills, or across the Severn Estuary to Wales.

All rooms have colour TV but the TV signal varies from ok to non-existent depending on the weather. We do have free wi-fi and you are welcome to borrow a DVD to watch as an alternative. Or you can just sit in the garden, read a book and listen to the birdsong.

We offer a continental breakfast which normally includes quality muesli, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, toast with marmalade & jams, fruit juice, tea and coffee. Most of our breakfast ingredients are either organic, local or high quality, such as Yeo Valley yoghurts, made here in Blagdon.

Breakfast is served, buffet-style, in the dining room, which is in the old part of the cottage. It has beamed ceilings, a window seat, a French Godin woodburner. We are regularly visited by robins, bluetits, coaltits, long-tailed tits, sparrows and songthrushes, just to mention a few. Every spring 'our' swallows' return to nest in our stables, usually raising several lots of chicks. We also have Tawny Owls close by, we hear them in the garden in the evening and see them flying over our field. It's a wonderful location rich in wildlife and we are very happy to be able to share it with our guests.

We want all our guests to be delighted with the standards of cleanliness and fresh, airy environment in the Cottage, therefore we have a strict no smoking policy inside the house.

THE HOLIDAY CARAVAN - sleeps 4 to 6

We also offer further self-catering accommodation in a cosy holiday caravan / mobile home, situated at the bottom of the garden. It is nicely decorated, with stunning views from the main windows, across the Severn Estuary to Wales. We offer the same high quality services, including linens and towels, TV in the lounge, etc. It has two double bedrooms, and a further double bed can be made up in the lounge. There is a separate shower room, with basin, shower and toilet and a fitted kitchen with electric cooker. Access is by foot, down a drive and path from the main gate. It can be rented for one night, a weekend, or for a week's holiday. Breakfast baskets and hospitality tray can be provided. Great for an economical family holiday, or reasonably priced weekend or overnight accommodation.

CAMPING

We offer a limited number of weekends camping for activity groups, with shower & toilet facilities.
